How is our daily schedule?

Experience the daily rhythm of life with AfricaNomads, the days begin with a taste of Swahili hospitality. Wake up to a freshly prepared breakfast infused with local flavors. Grab your laptop and choose your workspace – whether it's the comfort of the house or the laid-back ambiance of a beachfront café, where sandy feet and ocean breezes inspire productivity.

Weekly we gather for our renowned Communal Dinner, where you'll savor the diverse flavors of Swahili cuisine.  Spontaneous hangouts are common daily, there's always someone ready to meet. We are also sunset chasers and love to meet over a drink as we see the day go by!

When the weekend arrives, leave the planning to us! Saturdays and Sundays are dedicated to immersive programs designed to showcase the best of the local community and to discover the areas. From visiting empowerment projects to participating in conservation programs. We also love sailing and discover the surroundings, so get ready for some snorkelling and days under the sun!

Why with us?

Welcome or Karibu (how we would say here!) to the heart of AfricaNomads: a community that feels like family.

Here, you’ll find more than just a place to stay; you’ll discover meaningful connections, shared experiences, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere that truly feels like home. We love meeting local communities, contributing to their growth, and building bonds that last beyond the journey. Here, you’ll find more than just a place to stay; you’ll discover meaningful connections, shared experiences, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere that truly feels like home. Nairobi is a vibrant and dynamic city that pulses with life. As Kenya’s bustling capital, it blends modern energy with rich cultural heritage in the most captivating way. It's a crossroads of tradition and progress, where towering skyscrapers stand alongside open-air markets and expansive green spaces. Lost in Lamu Island

Sat, Feb 28 - Sun, Apr 5 2026

Lamu is a true paradise, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that leaves everyone at awe. A super off-the-beaten path destination: It couldn't be stressed enough, the little maze streets, the kindness of the people, the delicious fresh seafood & local swahili cuisine... A small community of 25,000 people in the island just 1.5 hour flight from Nairobi. Watch the ocean as you work, a traditionally built dhow sailing by, the donkeys wandering the streets, boats floating on their anchors, others busy ferrying passengers across the islands. Venture yourself into the magic labryinth-style town, gaze at the uniquely wood-carved doors, slow down, life here is pole pole as they say in Swahili... (the laid-back life).

WHAT TO DO IN LAMU?

How do we spend our days on the island? Very easy... Lazying around! That's a very good way to spend the days however there are plenty of thrilling and fun experiences to pack your days. Lamu's history dates back to about 700 years, there are several archeological sites to visit in Manda and Pate island of the first inhabitants that ever sailed these waters. Lamu Town where we are located is a UNESCO World Heritage Site

Go up to Kiwayuu, true paradise... Enough said!

New destination: Addis Ababa

Sun, Apr 5 - Sun, May 10 2026

Ethiopia is a land that radiates history, creativity and breathtaking beauty at every turn. For digital nomads in Africa, it is one of the most inspiring countries to explore, a place where ancient traditions blend seamlessly with a bold modern energy. From centuries-old rock-hewn churches and castles to lively streets filled with art, color and music, Ethiopia captures both the soul of Africa’s past and the promise of its future.

For remote workers, creatives and entrepreneurs, Ethiopia offers a lifestyle that is both stimulating and grounding. The capital city, Addis Ababa, is quickly becoming a hub for digital nomads in Ethiopia. Here you can work from vibrant cafés, connect with local innovators and experience the warmth of Ethiopian hospitality. The aroma of freshly roasted coffee fills the air, reminding visitors that this is the birthplace of coffee itself, a daily ritual that connects people across generations.

Beyond the city, Ethiopia’s landscapes are extraordinary. From the dramatic highlands of Lalibela and the peaks of the Simien Mountains to the surreal beauty of the Danakil Depression, nature here tells stories older than time. A visit to the Danakil Depression is an unforgettable experience, a place of vivid colors, salt flats and active volcanoes that feel like another planet. These contrasts reflect the spirit of Ethiopia itself, diverse, surprising and full of wonder.

Culture and community are woven into every part of life. Join a traditional coffee ceremony, share injera and spicy stews or dance to the hypnotic rhythms of Ethiopian music. Each encounter offers a deeper understanding of this country’s warmth and authenticity. For those who choose Ethiopia as a base for coliving or remote work, it is more than a destination, it is a space for reflection, growth and creative inspiration.

Ethiopia moves at its own rhythm, balancing ancient wisdom with a dynamic present. It invites you to slow down, explore with curiosity and embrace the unexpected. For digital nomads in Africa seeking purpose and adventure, Ethiopia offers a journey that is as real as it is transformative, where connection and discovery go hand in hand.

New location: Zanzibar

Sun, May 10 - Sun, Jun 7 2026

Zanzibar is a paradise for digital nomads in Africa, a place where time slows down and every moment invites you to live and work with more presence and purpose. From the spice-scented breeze to the rhythm of the tides, this island is alive with culture, history and natural beauty.

At AfricaNomads, we have created a home for remote workers, creatives and entrepreneurs looking for a space to focus, recharge and connect. The heart of it all lies in Jambiani Village, a peaceful coastal community on the southeast coast of Zanzibar.

Life in Jambiani

Jambiani is more than just beautiful beaches and turquoise waters. It is a living community full of Swahili culture and soul. Life here moves with the ocean as fishermen set out at dawn, children laugh along sandy paths and the call to prayer drifts gently through the palm trees.

Waking up in Jambiani means barefoot mornings, shared smiles and the gentle hum of village life. You will find spice-laced dishes served with warmth, traditional dhow boats gliding across the horizon and locals who welcome you not as a tourist but as a friend. This is where connection happens, between people, nature and purpose.

Meet the family at AfricaNomads

At AfricaNomads, we offer immersive pop up coliving experiences across Africa with a welcoming host family. Unlike traditional colivings that simply provide a place to stay and the occasional yoga class, we are here to truly curate your experience. This approach comes naturally to us because we are hospitality professionals who also chose the nomadic life. We have lived and worked in some stunning locations across Africa and around the world, collaborating with incredible hotels and boutique properties. Along the way, we realized something was missing for us. Community.

In hotels, connections often last only two or three days before everyone moves on. With AfricaNomads, we found the missing piece. A place where people stay longer, connect more deeply, and genuinely belong. Our immersive approach is curated because we, as local hosts, are present. We guide and shape the adventure, help you uncover hidden gems, connect with local communities, and fully immerse yourself in the culture of each place.

Weekdays are relaxed and flexible, allowing time to work or unwind, while weekends are reserved for bigger, curated experiences such as sailing, remote safaris or beach trips, or spotting elephants. We host a weekly shared dinner, though you will often find guests naturally spending time together every day. The program is designed to give you as much solo time or shared time as you need, so you can decide what your days and weeks look like. Perfect for digital nomads and slow travelers, our coliving allows you to live like a local while enjoying the freedom to explore.

We create an environment where everyone feels like family, whether we are sharing meals or enjoying a cocktail by the pool, while always leaving room for privacy when you need it. At AfricaNomads, you are not just a visitor. You are part of the journey, with hosts who genuinely care about curating and sharing the best of Africa with you.
